Meet John Regino

John Regino has always had an interest in technology. After initially going to nursing school, Regino was employed by LUV Airline for eight years when he felt he needed a more challenging position that would satisfy his passion for technology. As a result, he was hired by Rackspace’s email team in 2010, where he harnessed his service skills and found his passion for leadership.

Born, raised, and currently residing in San Antonio, Texas, he has five cats (Terry, Spaghetti, Mongie, Garbagio, and Jacks), one dog, and is the father of a daughter, Mea Lynn. John joined Liquid Web in October 2021 as a Support Supervisor.

Why did you join Liquid Web?

At that time, he had completed two years as an Operations Manager at a BPO company. I loved the company and the team I worked for, but I was not satisfied with my role. As an operations manager, I was responsible for managing the operations side and didn’t have a lot of time to engage with support teams. Then the opportunity arose to join the Liquid Web family and work again with one of my mentors, Terry Dolliver. The company’s core values align with mine, and this was my path back into the tech industry.

What attracts you to the hospitality industry as a career?

I am a problem solver at heart. My passion for technology and problem solving is fulfilled in the hosting industry.

Is there something specific about Liquid Web that you love?

Liquid Web support teams are passionate and hard-working. As each day passes, I’m grateful to be able to meet more of the amazing support teams.

What is your favorite part of the company culture at Liquid Web?

My favorite part of the company culture is having fun and not taking ourselves too seriously. I host weekly trivia with our third shift support teams. Winners are sent a prize that aligns with the trivia theme.

In your opinion, what is the difference between Liquid Web and other employers?

We are empowered to be creative and make decisions. But above all, we are encouraged not to be afraid of making mistakes.

What is the biggest milestone you have achieved?

In my first year with the company, one of my biggest milestones was helping create an attractive environment for our third shift support team.

Tell us about an amazing customer experience you’ve had at Liquid Web.

One company I have the opportunity to interact with on a daily basis is Topps, a business card company. I grew up collecting their baseball cards, so I am honored to work with them to address their issues and help resolve any issues that arise.

What are you known for on Liquid Web? What specifically do people come to you for?

I am very accessible. Technicians contact me for various reasons: password resets, time adjustments, client escalations, and delivery issues to name a few. Of course, some things are not in my wheelhouse, but I always do my best to point them in the right direction.

What is something you would like our clients to know about your accommodation?

We have some of the most passionate and talented people who handle customer issues with great care.

What is your nickname on Liquid Web and why?

Most people address me by my last name, Regino. My childhood nickname was Bud, after John Travolta’s character in the movie Urban Cowboy.

Apart from work, what are some of your hobbies?

I am a collector of all things. From action figures to Funko pops, artwork (mostly music related) and Hot Wheels to name a few. I am also a Lego builder. I have over 50 Lego sets and still counting. I hope to be a master Lego builder one day.

What is your favorite TV series?

This one is a bit difficult as I have a few favourites. The program that I have watched the most and continue to watch is “The Office”.

What’s your favorite app?

The app I find myself on the most is TikTok. I love that the algorithm feeds your likes and I love the creativity of many of the creators.

If you could have dinner with a famous person [dead or alive]Who could it be?

This one is easy. Keanu Reeves. Apart from being an accomplished actor, he embodies great qualities. Despite all the losses he has experienced over the years, he remains humble and kind. The real question would be what to talk about….

You can find John on LinkedIn. We hope you enjoyed our series and stay tuned for the next helpful human profile.
